Turnkey Rental Programs - For Dealers
NEMC offers music merchants a unique turnkey rental program which removes the dealer's
operational burdens, yet enables the dealer to earn from 19.5% to 40% commission with no
capital investment in inventory. To date, NEMC has paid in excess of
$27,072,189.00 in
commissions to its Affiliates.
The NEMC Rental Program, the only licensed affiliate program of its type in the music
industry today, removes from the dealer the steep capital requirements, high operation
costs, extensive service and repair responsibilities and the complicated, intense legal
requirements of offering rental contracts to the public.
Under the NEMC program, a dealer becomes a licensed affiliate for no fee at all. In
return, the Affiliate receives an inventory of new and like-new name brand instruments
complete with accessories ready for rental. NEMC supplies an inventory based on the size
of the dealer's rental program and additional inventory is sent throughout the year as the
dealer needs it, all at NEMC's expense. NEMC pays for the insurance for this rental
inventory on the dealer's premises. If a dealer already has rental inventory NEMC
purchases it at up to 100 cents on the dollar when it is rented, thus freeing up cash for
the dealer.
Each instrument's rental documents are customized for each Affiliate according to the
often strict laws and requirements of their respective state or territory. NEMC even takes
care of the registration and fees necessary to secure the license required by many states
for a retail store to operate a rental program. The Affiliate is responsible for promoting
the rental program, soliciting business and obtaining the customer's initial payment. Once
the instruments are placed in the hands of the customers, NEMC performs customer service
contact, motivational mailings to the students and parents, monthly billings, accounting,
sales tax remittance, and payment of collection agency fees to collect delinquent
accounts. Also, a key factor to dealers, NEMC pays the Affiliate for repairs performed on
instruments while they are on rental. In exchange for their work, Affiliates are paid
monthly commissions on all rental money collected by NEMC and through the Platinum Plan
Plus, an Affiliate can build a rental program that will earn a commission rate as high as
40% .
NEMC's Affiliate program was developed to help dealers generate more cash and profits from
their band instrument rental business without capital investment for inventory. A
successful rental program also generates a significant increase in retail traffic in the
dealer's store. The NEMC program has proven that by getting rental returns back to the
home office at NEMC's expense and by controlling quality and servicing all returned
instruments at this facility as well as shouldering the inventory, accounting, legal and
bookkeeping costs and time consuming work, the local dealer is able to offer an unmatched
rental program to the community in accordance with the laws governing rental. Under the
Affiliate plan, dealers do not have to worry about the high cost of financing inventory or
maintaining the quality of the inventory. By removing capital and operational burdens from
the dealer, the NEMC program allows the dealer to put more time and money into those items
in their store that have a faster turnover, thus increasing sales and profits. Endorsed by
dealers throughout the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska, the NEMC rental plan
enables dealers to earn up to 40% on their rental program without investment and monthly
commissions are paid without missing a beat.
